Year 7 have been studying colour and learning painting and colour mixing techniques. Students looked at the artist David Hockney, who has just had an exhibition at the Royal Academy, to inspire us to create these vibrant, imaginary landscapes.

A2 students are doing their 15 hour exam over the next three school days. Here’s a little taster of what they have produced already.

They’ve made a great start. We’re also really proud of so many of them getting onto Art foundation courses! Well done Nina, Rachael, Yasmin, Fern, Sadie and Rebecca for getting into Camberwell, University of the Arts. Sadie and Georgia for also getting places at Kingston University and Florentyna and Yasmin also into Kensington and Chelsea college, Milette into Working Men’s college. Well done girls!

On 7th and 8th of March our Yr 11 students did their 10 hr art exam. Students responded to a range of themes set by the exam board and produced some terrific work which can be seen below. We are really proud of how well prepared the students were and the quality of the work they produced.

9T are almost finished making their ‘HeARTS’. In this project they looked at the theme of change and the work of artist Jim Dine. Each student had to take the basic shape of a heart and adapt and change it sculpturally. Below are some of the finished pieces.

On Wednesday 14th of March our AS Art spent 5 hours creating a drawing for their AS exam. The idea is that they use the 5 hrs to explore their theme and their drawing helps them to develop a final piece for their Unit 2 project. Below are some of the interesting and varied outcomes.

This term year 7 students have been focussing on colour and developing their painting skills. Below are some examples of the great work they have produced.
