‘Which department was this?’

This was one of the many compliments the students received when their work was exhibited for a two day ‘pop up’ exhibition in the Hockney Gallery at the Royal College of Art. The quality and thoughtfulness of the pieces on display was truly impressive. See images below taken of the work and the space following the exhibition. This was the first time that A level students’ work has been exhibited in this way and it  was a once in a lifetime opportunity for those involved. The work was made following two workshops at the Freud Museum run by Andrew Vallance, a PhD research student at the RCA. He encouraged them to use photographs of unknown family members and to create a piece of work in response to them.
