The Young Masters Initiative will be running again this summer at the Saatchi Gallery.
The Young Masters Initiative is a powerful 7 week course designed to build self-confidence, self-esteem and self-mastery by empowering young people to trust their unique creativity and inspiration, as they learn the life skills necessary to improve the quality of their lives. It is offered free of charge due to the generous support of private donors.
Participating students will be required to attend 2 days a week throughout the month of August. They will be provided with all materials required for creating sculptures, and classes will take place in the Education Room at the Saatchi Gallery. This will be followed by a 3 week period in September in which they will be working on a personal goal. They will not be attending classes at the Gallery for this element of the programme, but will be assisted by a mentor with whom they will keep in regular contact. The programme will not interfere with class times at school.
You can visit http://www.youngmasters.org to see what students accomplished last year.
This project is for year 10 students, willing to fully commit to the programme and be able to attend all sessions for their group. They do not need to be the best artists, but they will need a strong interest in the arts and an enthusiasm to seize this valuable opportunity to develop themselves, their artistic abilities, and their life skills.
