Chelsea Summer School 2012

This summer why not sign up to one of the fantastic courses being run by Chelsea College of Art and Design? They are offering course in Textiles and Interior Design for yr 12 students. These courses really help students to develop skills and build up a portfolio. Details are below. You will need to fill in an application form then ask your DT or Art teacher to add their bit.

Interior Design Summer School

 

Venue:

Chelsea College of Art and Design, SW1P 4JU

 

Come to: Atterbury Street entrance opposite Tate Britain

 

Date: Tuesday 26th June – Friday 29th June 2012  

 

Times: 10 am – 4 pm.

 

Programme: On the Interior Design Summer School you will:

  • Learn about working to a design brief
  • Develop a series of design ideas
  • Explore model making and use a range of 3D materials.
  • Explore 3 dimensional space and how we use it
  • Learn more about yourself as a designer
  • Experience working in a team
  • Discuss and evaluate work in a seminar environment
  • Become confident working in an Art School environment.

 

You will also:

  • Find out more about careers in Interior Design
  • Find out how to progress on to studying design Degrees
  • Hear more about Interior Spatial Design BA Hons at Chelsea and receive advice on the difference between studying Interior Design and Architecture.

 

What to bring: If you can bring any of the following they might be useful: coloured pencils, thin tipped felt tip pens, 2B to 6B pencils, scissors and glue stick. We will also supply materials. Please bring an apron or wear clothing that you can work in using messy materials.

 

Application:

Open to Year 12 AS or First Year Extended Diploma students.

Please return completed forms by 30th May 2012.

 

Textiles Summer School

 

Venue:

Chelsea College of Art and Design, SW1P 4JU

  • Learn more about yourself as a Textiles designer
  • Experience working in a team
  • Discuss and evaluate work in a seminar environment
  • Become confident working in an Art School environment
  • Produce work which can be part of an application portfolio in the future.

 

You will also:

  • Find out more about how we use textiles in fashion and in the environment
  • Find out more about careers in Textiles and Fashion
  • Learn more about how to progress on to study Textiles / Fashion  at Degree level
  • Have a tour of the Textiles Department at Chelsea.
