On Tuesday 22nd of May, 2012 the Art department held a private view for an exhibition of AS and A2 work made during the year.
Students, staff, parents, governors and friends were invited and we had an excellent turn out with everyone enjoying refreshments while looking at the work. Many people commented on the quality and individuality of the students Art, ranging from drawing and painting to video, paper craft, fine art textiles and sculpture. It was great to see so many members of staff there. We were also pleased to welcome some of the outside agencies we have been working with in particular Ann Gilmore from the Royal Academy who works with our students on the RA’s AttrAct Programme, and Qona Rankin from the Creative Mentor foundation.
We were extremely pleased and proud of all our students work. Many of our Year 13 artists are going on to study Art on foundation and degree so we wish them lots of luck.
