Childhood Bedrooms

Year 12, as part of their ‘Home’ project, have been recreating an aspect of their childhood bedrooms. The students looked at the artists Charles Matton , Thomas Demand and Lori Nix who make model replicas of spaces that are personal to them and photograph them. Students began by monoprinting their earliest memories , before making a small model in a material of their cloice (one student even using toffee and shortbread) The documentation of the work was very important and students spent two lessons photographing their work, experimenting with lighting using torches, different coloured lights and even glow in the dark paint! The final photographs are displayed below.
