V & A Jewellery workshop

Tuesday the 2nd of July was our last lesson with our lovely yr 12 students and what better way to spend it but doing a fun jewellery workshop. The students worked with Pippa Joiner and her assistant Fabrice from the Victoria and Albert Museum to make jewellery out of found objects. The workshop was inspired by the work of Jasleen Kaur a Royal College of Art product design graduate. They were given a brief detailing the person they were making for. The array of resources to make the work from was really impressive ranging from mesh from kettle filters to electric flexes, chains and doilies. They used cable ties, treasury tags and ribbons to bind it all together. The results of the day can be seen below.
