Girls in year 8 spent Monday thinking about their identity as part of our I am day. They were lucky to work with Frances Conteh, our creative mentor and a knitwear designer who devised a dreamcatcher workshop.
“The work the girls produced was amazing,” says Frances. “ Bright and dynamic colours were chosen, in part due to my background as a knitwear designer and as a continuation of my strong interest for vibrant, graphic geometric patterns. However, these colours were also employed to reflect their positive meanings within colour theory. The dream catchers with their striking webs of colour captured the essence of the day’s theme ‘I am…’ and served as creative tools for positive expression!”
